I always felt bad for the cat. Pepe freaked me out.

God, yes. It is not romantic or flattering to have someone following you about obsessively. I was a pretty stupid kid and even then those cartoons creeped me out.

I always just wondered why he didn't go find a damn skunk to date.

But of course, the minute the cat stunk herself up to his level, he was repulsed by her. There's something disturbingly truthful in that.

To be fair, the main reason the cat is repulsed by Pepe is his smell. The few times he covered it up, she was all over him.
