The whole point of Merlin being there (according to the Great Slash Dragon) is to become boyfriends with unite with Arthur and get him ready to be the king who will bring magic back to the land. If Morgana kills Uther and Arthur finds out she's a witch, it's likely he's never going to trust a magic-user/magic after that.

Morgana isn't wrong to want to kill Uther. But the fact that she's a witch as well is a very big problem in the grand scheme.

That is an excellent point which I never even thought before.


I'm going to take a wild guess and say neither did the writers.

They've referenced the whole "If magic kills Uther, Arthur will never trust Merlin" bit before. Just never in reference to Morgana, which I think they'll address this season if the trailers are to be trusted.

Well then Arthur is an idiot. Or Merlin thinks he's an idiot. Or he's too caught up to the OMG PRINCE THAT WAS PROMISED UGH this show I can tell it's going nowhere and yet here I am.
