Wow, you're quite right, I seem to have invented that. I guess nobody is immune from stereotyped projections. I do apologize. :)

I would rephrase that to say that saying "exercise!" to an out-of shape person is a bit daft, since said person has probably already thought of that. Of course, "why don't you just exercise?" is something people hear more if they are overweight, but there are certainly out of shape skinny people facing similar problems.

As a fit fat person, I want to thank you for redacting this :) (For one, this stereotype is why I have 100lb friends who can't climb a flight of stairs, but they are convinced that "it's okay because I'm not fat". Um...)

To be honest, I'm quite surprised at myself for having said it in the first place. I was definitely at my most out of shape when I was my skinniest, and even now my overweight mother is much fitter than I am (though I'm getting better!). But I've heard lots of stories like this -- even people who spend their lives fighting prejudice are sometimes blinded to it.
