AGREED.

A lot of people who criticize Morgana fail to realize she is a product of the circumstances. Uther is a genocidal maniac and the fact that Arthur stands by and lets him murder innocent people because of his bigotry is very telling.

She was terrified and was shunned by her friends. Even if I don't agree with the execution for her plans I can certainly see where she's coming from. Her people are dying and the only persons who could aid her in freeing them (ie. Arthur and Merlin) continue to side with a genocidal king.

If Morgana is a 'product of the circumstances', then so is Arthur - he was raised by Uther to hate magic. You can't give Morgana a free pass on killing random peasants to achieve her goals and then go ahead and criticise Arthur for doing what he's been brought up to believe is the right thing and the only way to be an effective ruler.

Everyone is a product of their circumstances. She wasn't born the way she is right now.

You're assuming Arthur's goodness was "taught" to him by Uther. If anything he's growing out of what he learned by judging people for how good they are (Gwen, Merlin) instead of the royalty of their blood/non-magical status. Don't forget he started out as an unrepentant bully.

Just because the show attempts to portray Uther in a good light that doesn't mean he's a good guy. Feeling remorse doesn't erase the fact that he's a genocidal maniac.

The main difference between Arthur and Morgana is that he always had people sticking up for him. His friends were true to him. Morgana had to go through everything alone and the only source of love and support she found was Morgause. So it stands to reason she would agree with her ideas. I'm not saying it's right or that Morgause isn't as bad as Uther... it just makes sense.

Arthur wasn't always standing by when Uther killed innocent people - he argued with Uther and even helped to rescue Mordred.
Merlin tried to help her but she choose to listen more to Morgause. (and he helped her - brought her to the druids)
Her people are dying - just because they have also magic doesn't make it her people.
She was shunned by her friends?!? I must have watched a different show - where was she shunned by Arthur or Gwen? They cared about her till the end until they realized that she is plain evil. She tried to kill Arthur on numerous times. What about Gwen? She was always supportive and a great friend.
