Exactly. Also, I don't think OP should use the word exercise at all; they should refer to a specific activity. I'd love it if a friend invited me out for a walk or a jog or a swim. I'd feel weird if a friend said "we should go exercise!" because non-specific exercise is not really an activity and I'm not physically capable of all kinds of exercise. Also there's no baggage and loaded words, so the OP's motive wouldn't obviously be anything besides "let's share this activity!"
