But it kinda does? Unless you have a fucked up thyroid or something, if you eat right an exersie, you might nto get the exact same results, but odds are good you'll get results.

There's an objective science to it. If you burn more calories then you take in, you'll start to lose weight. if you make your muscles endure this much strain, and provide them with the resources to rebuild, they will rebuild stronger.

Now, how fast and how much you gain/lose, and most importantly, how much you enjoy the process, that changes from person to person. But assuming it will never work for you because your x body type or you tried it once and hated it is also excuse making.

This assumes you have access to foods that will allow you to "eat right," that you have the time and able-bodiedness to exercise (regularly, wherein it'll end up making a noticeable physical difference, which I assume is what the OP is hinting at, re: Her fandom friends are fat and that makes her sad, waaaah), that the generic adage about "eating less and exercising more" is a catch-all rationale that absolves anyone of further discussion because, of course, if you can't cut it, you're just being lazy/stupid, etc., etc. But hey, feel free to continue lavishing praise on how "objective" it is! :D

I don't think OP even mentioned that they were fat. One or more of them could be average sized. In fact she directly referenced health, not size. You have points and boy does fat hate piss me off but I think you're projecting.

[identity profile] citizenjess.livejournal.com 2011-09-18 03:19 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, someone else has already inferred that her friends are just tired and easily winded but not necessarily tubbos. I'mma gonna assume she means they're fat. I'm sure she'll understand; and if not, heeeey, I'm just projectin' my fatness, so no big dealies, right-o?

(Anonymous) 2011-09-18 02:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, so all those scientific studies are just garbage because you are a lazy inconsistent tubbo? Okey-dokey.

I hear you, but I'm too busy stuffing something caloric into my gaping maw to do much more than chew and type one-handedly, aaahh~

oic

To play devil's advocate: those of us who do have fucked up endocrine systems have reason to expect that it will never "work", because until you get your hormones straight? It is DAMN hard to lose any weight. And unfortunately, because most people believe that "results" = "weight loss", many people assume this means exercise isn't helpful, period :/
