I'm not in the fandom but yeah, I really loved this game, even got the bonus levels for it and had the theme song as my ringtone for a while. I even told the creators that I would love a sequel when I met a few of them at a convention about a few months later (or a year?) when they were promoting the bonus levels pack.

I still have hope that they'll do it, a sequel or a prequel even. So you're def not alone anon!

Kind of OT, but how difficult is this game? I'm not very good at video games (particularly XBox games), but I'm really intrigued by all of the videos I've seen of it, and I'd like to try it. If not, I'll try and see if I can get my brother to play it while I watch xD

It's frustrating as, sorry. I loved lots of things about this game and it ticks my right spot, but its controls are wonky at best. Which is a pity because the point of the game is fluid flow - which it failed.

I highly disagree. It does take skill and practice to be able to get just the right timing, but that just adds to fun of it - it's not something you can master right away. If you work at it, you'll be able to find your flow and everything will go smoothly. It's just like if you were to do parkour in real life - you need to have the right timing.

I'm pretty sure in real life you don't depend 100% on luck when it comes to how far you can jump.

I just got into this game! I can't play for too long at a time (visuals make me dizzy, but so worth it) but I'm really liking it. I have a feeling that I'll be joining you in wanting the sequel very soon :D

I keep meaning to play this. I heard it was underrated, and I've been pleasantly surprised by a number of other underrated games in the past few years.

Keep up hope: there was a leak a while back that EA was hiring for a new Army of Two sequel, which surprised me since The 40th Day undersold so badly. Mirror's Edge outsold that game handily, so I think there's a good chance - anything that breaks 2 million copies tends to get greenlit and Mirror's Edge did that recently.

[identity profile] misscherri.livejournal.com 2011-09-20 01:22 am (UTC)(link)
OT, but that game literally gave me too much motion sickness to even be able to finish it... which is a shame because the gameplay was fun and it was just an interesting game. I hope they do make a sequel for those who want it, anon!

[identity profile] views.livejournal.com 2011-09-20 05:27 am (UTC)(link)
not in fandom, but I definitely hope that Mirror's Edge will get the sequel it deserves. imo it's one of the most fun games to play I've ever stumbled upon.

[identity profile] fishwall.livejournal.com 2011-09-20 11:45 am (UTC)(link)
I thought it was an innovative game, considering it was basically a platformer in a first person perspective- sure, the flaws were glaring, but all the more reason it definitely deserves a sequel! Plus, it was refreshing to play a game that wasn't all brown and gritty, haha.

I'm still hanging on to a sequel. Just keep the Faith! ;)

In a word, yes!
