Maybe it's because assholes in RL are always worse than assholes in a TV series. House isn't insulting you, isn't being cruel to you, and you know everything's fictional. Things are different in RL.

Frankly, he'd be the man that never fucking breathed again after that shit in real life. Because, and I say this in all seriousness, if that happened to me in real life... I'd kill him. I'd claim it was self defense, the man obviously tried to kill me and my family by driving a car into the room where my family had been eating. He wouldn't leave that house.

I've only seen up to part way through season 6 but I'd agree. He can be a bit harsh sometimes but it's mainly when he knows people are lying to him. Him and Cole Phelps should get together and solve crimes in Los Angeles.
