Mind, I have no objections to Elba, specifically because Kirby drew Black Asgardians so there's leeway. Also, Elba was good. Good forgives a lot. But pretending that casting based on merit only one way is okay as some kinda "repayment" is a stupid mentality as well.

Awesome! I always wanted to be the obvious strawman. My life is complete!

But lets get one thing straight. The ATLA movie is one of the greatest to-movie disasters that has ever graced the screen. Perfect casting wouldn't have saved anything, the shit, visuals, choreography and special effects would still be utter shit and more then enough to ruin the experience.
