Eh, she's a product of her time and all that. I don't hate her, I just find her bland and uninteresting. To be frank, I'd rather hate her guts than find her as boring as I do, because then I'd feel something passionate for her personality and circumstances.
Some of the things she does irritates me a lot (trespassing and sleeping in a stranger's bed w/o permission, intending to use the offer of a live-in maid as a get-out-of-jail-free card wut), but I wouldn't go so far as to criticise her for her lack of character empowerment and depth- I'd blame the gender politics of the time.
