There are hundreds of Holmes adaptations across many countries; I'm not sure why anybody would be upset about another one. It's all Holmes. It's all good. They don't have to be in competition with each other - he's no longer merely a single fictional character with only one interpretation, he's an icon, an archetype, and each version of him is different and interesting. The more the merrier IMO! It's not like ACD would mind; he was chill about dramatists doing what they liked with Holmes, right from the start. Mostly because he was sick of the guy, but still.
