The unsub in the episode was kidnapping women, drugging them, and keeping them as living dolls because of a childhood trauma involving her sexually abusive father and him giving her dolls to other little girls he was molesting/raping. They were perfectly aware of what was going on around them, but completely unable to move. (iirc It's been a while since I saw that ep.)

I spent almost that entire episode curled up in a full body cringe in my chair. It was even better for me because I used to really seriously collect dolls when I was younger and still have a handful of my favorites and most valuable ones on shelves right above my television. >.

Yesss that's exactly my issue with it. Safe consensual play = everyone wins! Play where you drug people and make it so they can't move and 'replace them when they start to die'... Creepy! Really freaking creepy! D|;;;;
