That had a lot more to do with Japan-Korea relations than anything involving racism.

The two countries absolutely do not like each other, at all.

Actually, I was surprised that there weren't any signs from China.
History is a bitch; Japan was cruel to both Korea and China (and other Asian countries) in WWII and before, comparable to Germany and Poland and Slavic countries.
Maybe they're going too far with being offended, though. I mean, Korea was "just" groping breasts. When they make a joke about Poles stealing stuff in Germany it's not that the whole country Poland makes a fuss about it. But on the other hand, the situation in Asia is different from the situation in Europe.
