Ohhh, Games Wizards Play- so that's the next book's title? Interesting. I hope does feature him, I mean, AWoM had barely any Dairine 'coz she was searching for him, right? So...maybe the next one will have her finding him... *iz hopeful*
OMGGG. ILU! I totally ship Nita/LP and Nita/Ed! I wish they had fic! CURSES, I always go for the totally inappropriate and unlikely ships with zero fandom. *pout*
But yeah, it's the friendship and wizard partner aspect of Nita and Kit's relationship that I love the most. I hope it doesn't get subsumed by the romance aspect. (that's just me, though, lol, I'm sure a lot of people are hoping for kissing and date-like stuff)
Ahaha, I like your loose-canon approach! May I ask why you're less into the later books? To the extent you'll liken it to fanfic? If it's too much bother, that's fine, I'm just curious why you feel that way. ^_^

I'm really excited about it, because it promises to give Carmela something to put her in some actual legitimate danger and maybe face some struggle and consequences and character development. That'd go a long way towards making her less Sue-ish in my eyes.

Absolutely! That's the true draw of this series for me. It's not the magic that's exciting, it's what these two do with it that's the fun part.
As for the fanfic approach, I think it's to do with the introduction of characters like Darryl, Roshaun and Carmela, and plots that stand less and less on their own and rely on more of an overarching plot arc between books. Ronan has become less and less interesting, too, which I'm a trifle annoyed about, more of a Darryl No. 2 than the snarky, complicated guy he was when we met him. I miss travelling around the Earth to solve elemental local problems, instead of letting Earth be the suburban home base the duo have treated it like since A Wizard Alone. I miss Duane's descriptions of Manhattan and Ireland. I want more Gigo and explorations of Timeheart, and the Lone Power (which I know we're supposed to outgrow as the kids get older, but eh, I'd like to see more of him being eternally redeemed, okay?) so yeah... Uh. That came out kind of ranty.
I really like Mamvish, though, and the exploration of wizardly power structures like Planetaries, time loops and patchings, and I thought Aurilelde was a very interesting antagonist for Nita to stand up to. I hope to meet more of an older generation of wizards in the next few books. I hope... that came out coherently?
