The only thing I've ever heard anyone rag on him for is marrying SJP. And Godzilla. But honestly these are minor flaws.

Oh he did also accidentally kill two women in a traffic collision.

I was so sure this was a troll.

On August 5, 1987, Broderick was in Northern Ireland, vacationing with Jennifer Grey, when he veered their rented BMW into the wrong lane on a country road in Enniskillen, County Fermanagh and smashed head-on into a car driven by Anna Gallagher, 30. She and her mother, Margaret Doherty, 63, were killed.

Broderick spent four weeks in a Belfast hospital with a fractured leg and ribs, collapsed lung and concussion. Grey suffered severe whiplash.

Me too. I watched that movie tons of times when I was a kid, and loved it.

(And before anyone says anything, yes, I do concede that the original cartoon is better than the movie. I just never saw the cartoon when I was a kid, and that's too bad because Penny would have been my hero.)

I agree!! He could have done either nothing or just a string of bad movies for the rest of his life and I'd still defend him. <3 I've read/seen interviews with him, and he seems like a genuinely nice guy too, so that makes me even more willing to support him.

Did I miss something? Has he done something worthy of being disliked? I hope not- I will always love him for lots of reasons, not the least of which being that my husband looks like a young version of him. ;)

I've seen people who think he's a terrible actor and groan every time he comes on screen. I don't really understand why, but there seem to be a lot of them.

I think it's more to do with disliking his acting than disliking him as a person. He's been in quite a few dubious films and some people – particularly the Nostalgia Critic – feel that his acting leaves much to be desired. But quite frankly, who cares? If you like him, that's awesome and more power to you :D

Tim Gunn and Matthew Broderick are probably my two favorite celebrity voices. As soon as I hear them speaking I smile.

I did not know he voiced Simba. Does this make me a bad person?

I didn't really know people hated Broderick. Because of his acting? I never thought it was that bad. I hope no one hates him for the crash, I mean yeah it's awful and he probably feels guilty for it every day of his life, but I don't think that's a reason to hate him? Strangers get into accidents all of the time, they are accidents.

He'll always be Ferris Bueller to me. :)

I wasn't aware there was hate for him (aside that there are people that don't like his wife, SJP). He's kinda flown under the radar and stayed out of bad press. :/

I get where you're coming from. But I still adore Pocahontas and think John Smith is awesome while thinking Mel Gibson is a disgusting piece of shit.
