What about his actions make you think he's asexual of all things? No offense to asexuals but he seems to be about as far away from asexual as he can get without becoming Captain Jack Harkness.

Just going by what people on Tumblr say, asexual doesn't seem to have any particular meaning. You can masturbate, want to have sex, willingly have sex and enjoy it, and you're still asexual if you ~identify~ that way.

I gathered that much, but he just... seems to have sex wherever he can get it (as long as it's from an attractive lady as far as I've seen). It just baffles me you'd do it so often if you're asexual.

1. since when have people on tumblr go for accurate information about anything? 2. Willing to have sex, and actively having the need/desire to seek out sex are two different things - or did you miss that?

lol I've seen people say that Jack is asexual. They seem to like taking the most overtly sexual characters and claiming they're asexual.

Jesus christ, must we classify everyone into the smallest, most rigidly defined boxes? "Asexual bi-romantic Dominant with a voyeuristic streak"? For fucks sake. Why can't he just be a character?

Apparently we must. Personally, I'm a fan of "fuckallsexual" as a new replacement term for these long descriptions, since most of these words are losing their definitions anyway. Any thoughts?

There's nothing wrong with having words for things, though? Like yeah I can see where you're coming from, but that works as a specific description of somebody's sexual preferences. If people understand what those terms mean, what's wrong with using them? What's wrong with describing things in detail? Do you get super mad and start screaming "WHY CAN'T IT JUST BE HAIR" if somebody talks about a specific shade of hair colour like "ash blonde"?

Do people really spend their time figuring out the sexualities and fetishes of celebrities? What's the point?

I have discovered recently through fandom that almost anyone can apparently be classified as asexual, regardless of evidence to the contrary. And if there isn't anything specific that can be pointed to as evidence of interest in sexual activity, well, that's it, they're asexual. Not picky, or uninterested at the moment, or lacking anyone nearby that they find attractive. There is no middle ground between "slavering horndog" and "literally doesn't give a fuck."

I do feel for aces who are looking for characters to identify with, but more often than not it seems like people use it to try to explain what's "wrong" with a character who isn't frantic to get laid.

...Maybe you are just projecting? As far as I can see, there is nothing to suggest he is asexual, let alone in combination with any of the other labels you used.

o_O? I think a character who spends most of an episode banging the opposing lawyer is far from asexual, though I can see the dominant thing, and I'm of the belief most people have bisexual/biromantic leanings whether they want to admit it to themselves or not.

Harvey stans: Officially ruining Suits fandom for me since late August/early September-ish 2011! So predictable I should have placed a bet on it around episode three or so.
