Yes, yes it is!

And from that the movie doesn't sound so bad. I think it could only be improved by Sandra Bullock being a spy and bounty hunter though.

... Actually I think this could work in reverse too. If the Da Vinci code were a romantic comedy about a guy chasing a girl all over Europe I might actually have liked it.

adfslkd; I love that series to bits but no one I know has read it, or even knows it exists. Ted Naifeh's art is so gorgeous and the storytelling is wonderful and the characters are so refreshingly ambiguous and I just have a lot of feelings about this.

If The Da Vinci Code were a romantic comedy it would be wonderful. At the very least, it would take away some of the SUPER SERIOUS nature that made it so silly, and let it embrace its own ridiculousness. I think if I ever have to rewatch it that is how I will try to see it. :)

I love it too, and I also meet very few people who have heard of it. The characters are amazing and the stories are heartbreaking sometimes.

And I have to confess I have a terrible crush on Uncle Aloysius. On his old self, though the second prequel totally cemented my feelings. I almost made a fandom secret about it once but then I realized that all my friends already know.

Oh goodness, Uncle Aloysius. I think it's impossible to read any of the comics and not have a bit of a crush on him. (For me, it was the story with the changeling that did it. Oh my heart.)

That said, I'm not up to date with the series (was getting them from school library, moved, have no money, new local library has no idea what the fuck I'm talking about, sadness ensued), so I'm not sure if I've read this second prequel or not... I should try and get the books again. I'm sure some library must have them. Somewhere.

Oh, Skarrow. That story just killed me. I wrote a fic about him once. (It was shipping him with Hermia which sounds wrong but it seemed so obvious in the actual text.)

The second prequel pretty new, so maybe you didn't read it. I wasn't even sure I would like it but in the end I really did. Maybe you can try inter-library loan? Mine only seems to have the main series but maybe you will have better luck.

I nearly wrote fic for him, and then realised I'd never do it justice.

I probably haven't read it, if it's fairly new. There's a possibility that inter-library loan might have it, though. I don't know why I didn't think of that sooner. :D Thank you!
