I've read books so gripping they left me shaking. I've read stories that were such a mindfuck that I needed weeks to come down from them. There are stories I still avoid because I was so strongly affected by them that I simply don't want to ever relive the experience. Some of these *gasp* were even fanfiction.
Words have power and sometimes that power is almost beyond bearing.
