Besides, fanfic is best kept in the dark. In the age where prospective employers check Facebook pages for pictures that don't fit their corporate images, fanfic is not something that should be recognized in any way by the mainstream consciousness. Ever.

Oh my gosh, this. I get so paranoid whenever I find articles and things on fanfiction that list specific authors and/or stories in them, even though I know the crap I put out there is not going to get much notice within fandom, let alone outside of it. But even so, there is still that chance, and I love fandom and all, but what if my employer found that? D:
