I liked him in Punch Drunk Love because the lovable loser in that film was clearly unhinged and it's much more satisfying to see him interact with the world when his reality is so warped.

Everywhere else, he's just obnoxious. Sorry OP, Billy Madison was pretty much the third worst movie I've ever seen.
