I don't see any romance or chemistry there, but I think Sansa and Tyrion could have eventually taken Westeros by storm and been awesome rulers together if she hadn't been so fucked over by the Lannisters by the time she was forced into marriage with him that there was no way she was ever going to trust him. She was too afraid of him, and not in the half repelled/half-fascinated way she's afraid of the Hound. She'd never have been able to trust that Tyrion's intentions toward her weren't "now you'll be a pawn in my political games" at best at that point. (For all that she's wisely terrified of Sandor Clegane as well - who clearly has some kind of creepy semi-sexual thing for her where she represents the possibility of salvation but he also hates her a little for being innocent and still having any degree of faith in people - she's not afraid that he's going to use and manipulate her in the same way that she is with the Lannisters. His is a much cruder and more obvious/immediate form of cruelty)

The fact that she's not just a teenage girl but a very young teen is disturbing, too, but teenage girls seem to be regularly considered adult to all intents and purposes including for sex and marriage in Westeros to the point where I end up mentally aging all the younger female characters up a couple of years in my head the same way I did with Ayla in Clan of the Cave Bear and with all the kids in AtLA, because like Katara, Zuko, Sokka, et al., Sansa, Daenarys, Arya, etc. are all treated as if they're a couple years older than they actually are and often have adult responsibilities and think of themselves as adults (except for Arya, obviously, and even she doesn't see herself as a child anymore despite still very much being one). Ditto with Jon Snow, Ser Loras, and some of the other male characters who are already knights or members of the Night's watch despite being super young. I keep forgetting even while reading the books that the Knight of Flowers is supposed to be sixteen and not eighteen or nineteen.
