Karkat/Gamzee was hinted at for a long time, but only recently confirmed. Then there's Karkat's hatecrush on John but that was never requited.

Kanaya and Vriska definitely had a thing, they used to be moirails. And then Vriska went all flushed for Kanaya for a while.

I think there's more but that's all I can think of off-hand.

...How the fuck did I forget Karkat's hatecrush on John? Derp. I wasn't really counting moirails, though, since that's supposed to be a non-sexual quadrant and more closely resembles friendship than romance. Though they're all technically romantic, I'm never quite sure what to really consider Pale and Ashen. Pale feels like and in-between stage, and Ashen is just. Weird. But valid point re; both of those cases. My memory was hazy re; exactly how much Vriska felt for Kanaya, though, thanks for clearing that up!

They're not all "technically" romantic; they are all romantic. Not like humans would think of romance, but c'mon, they're aliens, ferchrissake.

Also... moiraillegiance really doesn't resemble friendship at all. I mean, if your friendships involve you keeping a violent maniac from snapping and killing a bunch of people, there's some serious issues going on there.

Okay, yes, that's fair, I agree with that. I didn't word that too well, either. Yes, in their culture, all four are considered romantic. But when we're talking about trying to relate troll romance to human romance, which is what we're doing in discussing the trolls in terms of sexual orientation, the Pale and Ashen quadrant are both weird and hard to know exactly how to sum up. I see moiraillegiance as being pretty similar to an incredibly close friendship. No, most people's friendships don't involve preventing a friend from snapping and going on a violent rampage, but the idea of being there for someone and helping them through their tough shit is a pretty common platonic thing, don't you think?

Fair enough, and I don't take offense. It is kind of hard to get exactly how some things re; the quadrant system work, though, to be fair. Hussie himself says it's confusing within the narrative, after all.

As your asking for examples, more recently it's been made quite obvious Gamzee was flushed for Tavros. And Equius could get off to virtually anybody doing anything.

And Eridan is desperate for anybody.

Yeah, that I definitely saw. It's mostly the stuff that happened between Kanaya's obviously being into girls and that where my memory's hazy. The troll typing quirks took me a while to get used to so I missed some things in their Trollian logs and I haven't had a chance to go back and reread things yet.
