It's from Red Robin, a Batman spin-off. And acceptance of things is something comics fans learn to do after a while, because it's pretty inevitable that something you disagree with or object to is going to eventually happen, given how long these characters go on.

As for this PARTICULAR one, though, I found it completely unnecessary, pointless, and stupid (Tim Drake, one of Batman's sidekicks, was getting raped by a woman who wanted to have his child). It also continues the rather disturbing trend of Batman males getting raped by women, and fandom brushing it off because a woman raping a man is somehow more ok than a man raping a woman (Batman himself and the first Robin have also been forcibly coerced into sex at various points)

I mean, Nightwing has been raped, what? Three times?

That's what others have said, although the only one I've seen with my own eyes is the infamous one by Tarantula and the baffling statement of "I never said it was rape, I just said it was non-consensual" from the writer.

People sometimes. I don't understand them.

This particular writer, Devin Grayson, is known for doing some extremely brain-breaking things. She also once decided, completely out of left field, to write a history of childhood physical and sexual abuse into the backstory of the DC character Damage, then a member the Titans. A decision she used JUST to give the character a reason to need to take some time away from the team.

I got the characters pretty quickly, I just can't make myself actively read comics because I don't get along with most of the Western art styles I have tried to read, and I give up pretty quickly... 9____9;

But, I'm mostly just amused by the air of "This scene was a STUPID and UNNECESSARY waste of space ... But that's totally how it would go down" that I got in the OP's post.

Well, sometimes things happen that are terrible as a narrative AND make zero sense in terms of characterization.

I just can't admit the characterization part aloud for fear of seeming as though I'm supportive of the scene itself. The part of fandom I'm involved in isn't big on the word "but". ;_;

Understandable. Some people think differently, but it is my belief that, since animation and sequential art storytelling are visual mediums, if the art doesn't sit well that's as good a reason as any not to get involved with the stories. It can be especially hard with Western comics since they change artists so often. Even if find one you like or get used to dealing with one you're simply blase about, there's a chance someone else will be drawing the scenes in a completely different style 6 months from now.

I wasn't sure if you wanted clarification on the characters/context of the secret or not, but I figured I'd give it and if you did, you'd have it and if you didn't you could just carry on with your life. ^^;
