...You know, that bothers me too. It was only until B&W when I started sort of liking the overworld (it's the first one that feels decent), but the sprites are still so... lazy. What gives?

More importantly: Nintendo, gives us a frigging console RPG where we can go into the grass and catch our own damn Pokémon. A version. Like the portables. But on your home console. With customizable trainers. In three dimensions. Like some of your other successful franchises. We are not asking for much. Please. Oh god, please. What do you want? What?

Yeah, it's weird when you think about it. So many new pokémon, but the main difference appearance wise on the battle systems is that they are now in full colors and the pokémon shake their asses at you. When you take in consideration the money the games/movies/anime make it just makes the developers seem lazy.

I remember back in the day I say pictures of the pokémon in 3D and thought it was an awesome n64 version of pokémon red... but it was just pokémon snap. Oh. =|

No, the show is the same exact thing. In the beginning it was tolerable that every episode had the same plot over and over again because of the humor, but after twelve freaking years, Team Rocket blasting off got old. That's all it is. Team Rocket blasting off. Every. Single. Episode. So maybe Satoshi has Iris and Dent now instead of Kasumi and Takeshi, and he leaves his Pokemon behind every region, but not a single thing has changed. He hasn't grown up, there's no continuity, and nothing resembling a plot.

Ash should have been gone after Kanto and the anime should have made some attempt to follow and expand off the freaking games instead of having maybe three episodes per series that have something to do with the evil team messing with legendaries or something. THEN the show might have been decent.

As far as the games go, YMMV. I personally found GSC much more intriguing than RGBY because it gave off the feeling of mystery and discoveries to be made. And Black and White were the first games where there actually IS an urgent need to become a Pokemon Master because if you don't, PETA is going to take over the world. Those games made me feel like a kid again.
