You know, some people are great with kids and still choose not to have children. And they're happy because that's their choice; they're not missing anything. It's not sad if that's what they've chosen.

Unless you have a Batphone to someone's brain, you don't have a damn clue what sort of parent they would be. Instead of being sad over a personal lifestyle choice that doesn't affect you, be happy that said choice stems from honesty toward their own feelings. People with no desire for parenthood shouldn't be parents, and sure as hell shouldn't be given a guilt trip over it. End of story.

Ummmm, you do know this is just a wish from a fangirl and it isn't like she knows Gackt personally and is begging him to have kids. It's not that serious.

This is FANDOM SECRETS. Gackt has no clue what is posted here and people are allowed to think whatever the fuck they want. She didn't say he needed to have kids or even should. Just said it's sad he won't. You act like she's stalking the man and holding up huge signs that say, "YOUR SPERM WILL ONLY GET SLOWER AS YOU AGE".

Agreed. It doesn't matter if the person is famous or not. If someone doesn't want to have kids, and if that's what makes them happy, that's their choice. Would you (as in the OP) prefer someone have kids they didn't want and thus be unhappy?

Well, if you are basing your view on Gackt's own words, he did think of what it would be like to have a child with his (now ex) wife but chose never to have kids for his own reasons. We actually don't know if he is happy/not missing what could have been. He may be glad, he may wish things had been different, we don't know.

I can understand thinking that and I have thought the same. It does seem like he'd be a good daddy. I totally respect he doesn't want kids but the "what if" does make it seem kinda sad.

Btw, I am sorry you are all ready getting quite a negative response! There's a big difference between what we think might have been nice and actually guilting Gackt into doing something (as if we could! He's so stubborn :P).

Well, he did say he thought of what it would be like. Of course, when someone says they could have been a good dad, they mean provided they chose to be.

I am not saying I wish he had managed to have a child by mistake or something. I am saying, if things had been different and he had wanted to, I think he would have been good. :)

They are probably basing it on his interaction with kids, plus his devotion to those he loves. It seems like people who are caring friends generally make good parents as well.

Okay, I admit I probably don't know as much about Gackt as some here but I did read his autobiography. That whole book was filled with stuff that seemed a little... "out there". Even many fans don't believe every word in it. He said his reason for not having kids is because he can see dead people and doesn't want his kid to have the same power and strugge with it as he did.

Now, considering this is a guy who had his marriage wrecked by obsessive fans who stalked his wife and caused her to have a nervous break down, anybody but me think maybe he just claims he doesn't want kids to get people stop asking when he will marry again and start a family? Maybe even to protect a future child? Jrock stars have hid kids for years before media found out, providing the mother wasn't famous or all ready known to be connected to the star.

I am not saying he does want kids, certainly not saying he has to have them... but I am saying there could be more to this than we know.

Thank you. The only reason I have ever seen Gackt give is the "they would have my power" thing and even he doesn't seem to take the claim of "his power" seriously. I think he may not want kids because he would be too busy to be a good parent or doesn't want them to deal with the media spotlight. He might never be a father, which is fine, but he could also change his mind later.

My guess? Low sperm count. He seems like the type who would probably like to be a dad - if for no other reason than having something else to brag about - but instead he gives this story about supernatural powers. Then he also brags about the size of his dick every chance, like trying to make up for something.

So, yeah, I am going with low sperm count.

That... makes total sense. I can't believe I never thought of it. He's been rumored for years to have health problems (he admits he gets sick a lot when working so much and he's known for randomly passing out) and so I wouldn't be if he's unable to father a child or that it's really his illness he's afraid to pass on.

I think he mentioned spending a lot of time in hospitals as a child, so it's probaby something he had from birth and could pass on.

My own problem with this secret is the implication that it's sad to not have children.

Actually, it states it is sad he won't. They say nothing about it in general. It's cool if you don't want kids but, man, all you of who have chose not to be parents are trying to make an "example" of this secret and looking like idiots. It's not about you.

As someone who chose not to have kids, some of the replies here make me almost feel ashamed of my choice. I swear, we aren't all crazy, anon!

It's perfecty understandable that you personally think it would be nice if Gackt had chosen to have kids. It doesn't mean you don't respect his choice, you just think the what if would have been cool. I get that and it's totally understandable.

I'm sure it's been said many times before now, but I totally, completely, 100% agree!! :D
