That said, I liked the ending, even if I found it very predictable and was screaming JUST KISS PLEASE JUST KISS at the tv.

I would never respect Bel if she hooked up with Freddy because he treats her like shit. Actually, Freddy was the real sticking point that kept me from enjoying the series. I wish the show had acknowledged that he could be an asshole instead of taking 10 minutes out of every episode to obsess about what a Good Person he is.

I actually quite appreciated the sort of anti-climactic ending - it felt true to the season, and I'm glad that they didn't feel the need to wrap everything up in the end. I did like the moment before we found out Clarence was a turncoat though, when Freddie was so proud of himself for being a total rebel and he just completely shot them down.

I loved the ending. Life isn't always dramatic and people go on living in the same way even after major events.

As for them hooking up, I don't think that will ever happen, they are friends not romantic partners and I'm pretty sure we're supposed to imply he's her gay best friend.
