Also no, I'm fairly sure you call River obnoxious because of how she conducts herself, and are just now using this plot point as an excuse.

(This is one big IMO, btw, I just wanted to clarify my point.)
I'm admittedly not a River fan, but I don't mind how she acts as much as how she's presented in regard to her love for the Doctor.
eg : she's set up as a smug, badass, doesn't-take-shit-from-anyone person (even when she first regenerate into the River we know in LKH) yet, as soon as the Doctor gets into the picture, transform into this emotionally dependent, lovesick shadow of who she was (yet it's never properly acknowledged).
In the end, it feels like her love/relationship with the Doctor is supposed to be super special but feels forced and underdeveloped. You're told one thing but showed an other, and that's the kind of thing I find annoying about River.
(Sorry if that didn't make much sense :/)

Yes, and she got reamed out for it. Ergo, it wasn't treated as a good thing. Try again.

Yeah, I think it did. One of the times when she (Rose) ripped through the fabric of reality to get back to the Doctor, and nearly ruined the universe in the process. (Might be remembering it wrong.)

No, it was the reality bomb wrecking ....reality (lol). The story never implies Rose is at fault.

Wasn't the universe already ~collapsing though? (With the stars going out, etc.)

Anyways, I might be remembering it wrong as well.

My point with this (I'd admit it, uselessly wanky) secret was something among the lines of "You know, River has some of the character traits you bash in Rose. I have the right to dislike her just like you have the right to dislike Rose."
