Maybe anon lives in the same place I do, and every single radio station, from the top 40 pop and hip hop, to the alt rock, to the easy listening plays Rolling in the Deep three times an hour.

I quite liked it, the first several hundred times (no exaggeration) I heard it. Now I never, ever want to hear it again.

I've actually started taking bets on how many times I'm going to hear it on a particularly long drive. I always win. I'm fucking sick of this song and her new one too. She's talented I guess, but I hate that squeaky/whiny quality when she hits the high notes. THERREYEEERE'S A FIREAYYEYRFHHHH STARTUILKJ. FUCK.

If I'm sick of a Lady Gaga song (which I am plenty) or any other pop music I can just escape to the alt rock station, or the oldies, or easy listening. Same goes with virtually any other type of music that gets overplayed.

But you cannot escape Adele. She is like Coldplay; every station plays her (even the oldies, which still plays 'the best of today' in my town). Only, unlike Coldplay there isn't a whole library of several albums worth of material. There's just. The one. Song. Fffffffffffffffffffffff-----

God, I know, right? ): The sad thing is I genuinely liked the song when it first came out. It was something new. But I HATE it to pieces now, it's so fucking overplayed. I've switched between three stations and come up all Adele. I have my ipod hooked up to my own car so it's not a big deal most of the time, but any time I go somewhere with my friends... RGH

This is why the only radio I listen to NPR. If I wanted to listen to music I didn't like I'd put it on my iPod.

That's pretty accurate; I don't listen to the radio (except NPR which is now mostly via podcasts), but whenever someone has the radio on it feels like it'll be Rolling in the Deep.

I do when I am in my car.... I have a tape deck, so I can't play my cd's (though I have a tape/cd converter thing, but it's a hassle to set up when I'm on the go)... and I listen to this nice indie station that plays everything and it's my way of discovering new stuff. <3
