Actually, Draco married Astoria Greengrass (sister of Daphne G, who was in Draco's year) who attended Hogwarts two years before Draco.

Luna is the only somewhat important side character (mentioned) who didn't marry an obvious Hogwarts student.

It's not something that would normally bother me, but seriously, most of the HP characters found their life partners when they were students.

-Draco and Astoria
-Arthur and Molly
-George and Angelina
-Ron and Hermione
-Bill and Fleur
-Neville and Hannah
-Harry and Ginny


...that's more than half of the main characters/important side characters and that's why it bugs me so much.

Who are all these non-Hogwarts kids they're supposed to end up with then? Because uh, the vast majority of wizards and witches in the UK end up going to Hogwarts, so unless they marry out of country, the chance is really, really big that they're going to end up with someone they went to school with. It's just logistics.

My issue isn't that they all came out of Hogwarts. My issue is that they all apparently found their future spouses when they were still young. And yeah, I understand that there was a war going on so that probably had a lot to do with it ("carpe diem"), but it still irked. I very much believe that some people can can find the person they're "destined" to be with at a young age... but the majority of the important/semi-important chars in the HP series happened to find that special someone when they were young, and not only is that just seriously unrealistic, but boring as hell.

Here are some other examples:

-Lily and James
-Snape and Lily (Snape remained infatuated with his childhood friend for decades)
-Cho and Cedric (I have no doubt that they would have married had Cedric not died.)


So yeah, while I sort of understand that circumstances probably lead to so many of those...predicaments... it's still annoying.

There are a ton of couples that didn't hook up at Hogwarts. Of the main cast, the only ones who actually did are Harry/Ginny, James/Lily, Arthur/Molly, and Ron/Hermione. Neville, Luna, George, Draco, Bill, Remus, Tonks, Cho, and a few others I'm sure I'm forgetting all ended up with people that they were not in relationships with at Hogwarts. Not to mention that while Harry/Ginny and Ron/Hermione ended up together, they ALL dated other people before that, so it wasn't a situation of being first relationship is true love.

That is really, really far from being a majority.

Cho and Cedric is not a viable example. You have no idea if they would have married. It's cool if you want to theorize that they would have, but there's nothing explicitly canon backing it. Cho lost her boyfriend, and she hadn't really dealt with loss before. JKR never portrays their relationship as true love forever. I think that is a massive, massive stretch. Cho actually ends up with a muggle anyway.
