If your secret contains the name or logo of the series or is addressed like "Dear Fandom X, I think Y about you" there's no need to mark down the fandom again in the post. (Kinda figured this was a given, but…)

If someone said this to me IRL I would call them a dumbass to their face. Girly? Really? I don't even have to read Girly to know it's shit. I read most of Wendy and damn was that enough. Unfunny, forced, cliched. That's all Josh is.

Plus, he defends Moon Over June. Which I can't even

(Anonymous) 2011-10-20 01:46 am (UTC)(link)
I would like encourage you to check out Girly. It starts meh, but it gets hysterical as the story advances and Josh tries out new things.

I've been unable to check out Wendy -what with Josh taking it down from the internet and me being too lazy to hunt it down on file sharing forums-, but from what I've heard of it, Girly came out better. Less forced.

[identity profile] seven-costanza.livejournal.com 2011-10-20 01:53 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I'm sure it's that Girly is "hysterical" and not that you actually just have a crap sense of humor. No thanks pal.

[identity profile] judo-creature.livejournal.com 2011-10-20 04:46 am (UTC)(link)
You're kind of a dick, know that?

(Anonymous) 2011-10-20 04:51 am (UTC)(link)
...they are a self admitted troll, I am honestly baffled that you think they're unaware that they act like a dick

[identity profile] judo-creature.livejournal.com 2011-10-20 04:54 am (UTC)(link)
I was off FS for a while, so I must have missed the self-admitted troll part. I really just started coming back last night or so, after a several month hiatus.

w e l p. Thanks for letting me know not to waste my time taking them seriously anymore! :D

(Anonymous) 2011-10-20 05:00 am (UTC)(link)
I'm always happy to help

(Anonymous) 2011-10-20 02:43 am (UTC)(link)
ugh why did you remind me that moon over june exists?

whhhyyyy

(Anonymous) 2011-10-20 02:51 am (UTC)(link)
Eh, I'll repress it again eventually.

But all I can think about right now is the way that awful Summer woman had some kind of vagina geyser. aggghhhhh

(Anonymous) 2011-10-20 05:25 am (UTC)(link)
It's totally possible for some women to have an orgasm like that.

I did. Though I got irritated at how wet everything got and have since not tried to have one like that because yuck the mess.

(Anonymous) 2011-10-20 05:30 am (UTC)(link)
...it is not possible to literally squirt pints upon pints, which is what she does (there was one strip where the ENTIRE LIVING ROOM was dripping wet)

[identity profile] judo-creature.livejournal.com 2011-10-20 04:48 pm (UTC)(link)
spoiler: it's exaggerated because it's a fetish

I have seen a lot of fetish art in my day, and 95% is usually highly exaggerated to emphasize and cater to the specific fetish. It is FREQUENTLY taken to the extreme, bordering on unrealism, because fetishes are very rarely logical.

Jesus fuck, you get giant cocks, extreme buttfucking, and gallons of semen and nobody says a word, but a woman has an exaggerated squirt and everyone loses their shit and rummages around for their pearls so they can clutch them.

(Anonymous) 2011-10-20 05:22 pm (UTC)(link)
If we were talking about a comic including those things (especially the gallons of semen, which is even more ridiculous than the squirting thing for me because it's in almost every porny comic/hentai ever), then I would be the first to roll my eyes at them

tbh, if Summer wasn't such an unlikable sociopath, I could probably even ignore it though

(Anonymous) 2011-10-20 04:50 am (UTC)(link)
Moon Over June.

IDK mang.

It just sort of is.

I kind of like it for that.

Just let it all hang out. It's all good.

For serious. I saw someone trying to red line that shit. That person was barking up the wrong tree. Just dig it or don't.

[identity profile] judo-creature.livejournal.com 2011-10-20 04:56 am (UTC)(link)
I feel the same. I read Moon Over June every update, and while it's 99.87% horrible... well, I can't lie and say that while I don't find it sexy, I appreciate laughing at how ridiculous it is, and I find the high-detail pictures of vulvae endearing.

[identity profile] juliamon.livejournal.com 2011-10-20 07:40 am (UTC)(link)
I'm with you on this. I can't say I love it or find it sexy, but I read it anyway because it knows it's ridiculous and doesn't give a shit, and that makes it fun. It's like the South Park of webcomics or something.

[identity profile] insanenoodlyguy.livejournal.com 2011-10-20 01:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Please don't insult south park like that.

[identity profile] judo-creature.livejournal.com 2011-10-20 05:39 pm (UTC)(link)
I think my favourite part is how it acknowledges that women have bodily functions. I mostly read for the lulz, but I also get a special bit of cheer when WoC doesn't shy away from actually showing them sharing a bathroom, or shaving, or sitting on the toilet, or in one particularly gross and hilarious panel, an enema before a porn shoot. How many authors even acknowledge that enemas exist, much less that they are frequently helpful before intense anal exploration.

Mind that I am absolutely not defending the flaws or arguing that it's a quality webcomic, but there are things I do like about it. Mostly I just started reading because I heard people bitching about it and wanted to be contrary, but ended up actually enjoying aspects of it.

[identity profile] fearless-rabbit.livejournal.com 2011-10-20 07:10 am (UTC)(link)
Didn't read Wendy but I read Cute Wendy, and didn't like it much at all. Loved Girly.

Also I think the Moon Over June writer is his girlfriend or something. Yeah, MoJ is terrible, but is that something to hate somebody over? My girlfriend is awesome and is probably physically incapable of making the next MoJ, but I know I'd defend her if people had the same reaction, so. I don't see what the big deal is here?

[identity profile] seven-costanza.livejournal.com 2011-10-20 07:42 am (UTC)(link)
"Yeah, MoJ is terrible, but is that something to hate somebody over?"

Yes.

And it's not even that I have a problem with the art (though her Google Sketchup backgrounds are just lazy), it's that the comic is so badly written and the characters are so two-dimensional and infuriatingly terrible that it offends my tastes on every level I can think of. If I were dating someone and Moon Over June was the project they chose to dedicate their free time to, I would leave them.

[identity profile] fearless-rabbit.livejournal.com 2011-10-20 08:37 am (UTC)(link)
We actually have the same problem with MoJ, then. But "has bad taste in others" is seriously a dumb reason to hate somebody.

[identity profile] seven-costanza.livejournal.com 2011-10-20 03:03 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't think so at all.
