Because you can't have an opinion on female characters if you're a guy?

I may be misunderstanding what's being said here, but I don't see how a person's gender means they should sit down and shut up.

I do encounter this a lot, actually. It sort of makes me scared to participate in these sort of discussions, because I'm often made to feel like I'm not allowed to have an opinion on the matter. =/

I don't think you're not allowed to have an opinion on the matter, it's just that your opinion doesn't matter. And I don't mean that in a rude way, it's just pretty logical, isn't it?

Please extend this logic to its logical conclusion and attack equally the next woman you see commenting on a male character.

I have not attacked anyone? I also have a hard time imagining a male character men would complain about being offensive (and have a woman disagree with them).
