You know, I really hesitated a lot before deciding to reply, but I have to say, I know (or rather used to know) two women irl who fit the description perfectly. One of them is a gender studies teacher, the other was my thank goodness now ex-boss. In their mind they were this all-powerful alpha-female I-don't-take-no-shit-from-no-one superwomen, but in reality, except for those who they decided to like, they treated everyone like dirt. I'm not saying it's entirely the media's fault, although I know my ex-teacher is in love with these over-the-top dominant characters; but it's high time women are given strong and at the same time wise and/or compassionate role models.
