I don't mind if that doesn't happen, but I want them to have sex, I'd like to see what kind of relationship they'd have then.

I can't see them having sex, myself, lol. I mean, I think it'd be almost impossible to do that and keep them in character. I think the writers are showing that Amy has feelings for Sheldon now, but being as oblivious as a piece of toast he doesn't seem to notice. I kind of feel sorry for her a little...

I love them just as they are. I don't want to kick up any ~asexual wank by saying this, but since Sheldon is an actual self identified asexual and not just some bro that fandom people are attributing ~asexuality~ to, I'd be sad to see the writers feel the need to give him a straight relationship. I have an Amy and Sheldon relationship with a guy right now and I'm so happy, I wouldn't give it up for anything.

A lot of people would probably get mad over it, but I think it would be nice. I'd think of it more as Sheldon doing an actually nice and unselfish thing for Amy, instead of it negating his asexuality. I think it would be sweet. Even though they're relationship is good as is, I think it would be a fun topic to explore.

I'm sure it'd be funny. But I don't think the humor would be worth giving up what they have now.

On look, another guy and girl in a show end up getting together instead of remaining friends. How shocking.

Me too. I know it wouldn't be in character but it has the potential to be so funny.

Translation: I want this to become like every other male-female relationship in prime time sitcoms.

In a heterosexual or homosexual relationship, just because there's sex involved does not mean it "revolves around sex."

Tell that to TV relationships though.

I love Amy Farrah Fowler and I just hope she never leaves the show. So, maybe I don't want them to end up together because as much as I do like Penny, bitter jealous Penny gets on my nerves. I couldn't say if she would become bitter if her and Sheldon didn't work out, but their non-relationship works for me. Sheldon is unaware, so he can't fuck it up.

So...is Sheldon actually asexual, or is this just one of those popular fan interpretations?

Well, according to an interview excerpt I saw a while back with one of the writers, which I CANNOT find again, he's not so much (what most people on here mean when they say) asexual as he is so totally focused on his work that he's never bothered to give that kind of thing any thought, except to regard it as an unnecessary complication in life that he doesn't have time for.

Probably should have specified that I DON'T want them to have sex. I just want them to realize they have feelings for each other and try to work that out in their own unique ways.

I haven't gotten to this part of the show yet -- just got through season 1 a few months ago since the first season was released in a set -- but secrets like these really make me wanna see these two interact. They sound like they have interesting chemistry.

I...don't really like them together at all. They can have a very good intellectual conversation, but outside those, they have a very awkward chemistry that just doesn't lend itself to shipping them at all. They're like...tentative friends to me, nothing more.

Amy had more chemistry in a possible shippy way with Leonard in the 3rd episode of the new season and she has TONS AND TONS of chemistry with Penny that they could dabble more with. I'd LOVE if she ended up having a crush and a possible thing with Penny, or just a one-sided thing.

But shippy with Sheldon? I can't see it. Even if I do ship the biggest ship in the fandom right now (no shame at all in shipping Sheldon/Penny, i love them to death), I honestly don't see it and I'd rather see her with Penny more than anyone. Just not Sheldon.

+1 I don't really like them together. And a bi or gay Amy would be amazing because she does seem to crush on Penny quite a bit.

I also was a little surprised she didn't fall for Leonard after that episode where they had a lot of interaction, not because I expect the show to get them together seriously but I almost expected them to hook up.

And I don't ship Sheldon/Penny but I love their interactions and kind of miss them.
