Wut? I get not liking the show, but what does that have to do with finding them attractive or not? I'm sure there are people who watch SPN without finding them hot, and people who find them hot and still don't like the show. oO
Anyway, OP, if you don't like the show, don't try to force yourself. There are other big fandoms out there.

There are several big-name shows out there with excellent material and active fandoms...and I just don't get them. AT ALL. But I still think that if I found just one of the dudes attractive, I might actually stick around to watch.

I don't know, a hot guy might be an incentive for me to give a show a try even if I didn't find it interesting otherwise, but I certainly wouldn't stick around and watch a show I find stupid/boring just because there's a hot guy. Of course hot guys help, but one hot guy alone won't make up for a show I completely hate otherwise.

Where were you earlier this week when I watched the entire pilot for "Once Upon a Time"? :-P

In truth, I was talking more about shows that are pretty not-stupid but personally a little boring, I'd like to check them out because people do have a lot of love for them, and yeah...a hot guy would make probably make things a lot more palatable.

I didn't say it was the most solid logic.

No, I think I do see your point. But for me attraction is also linked a lot to personality, so if a character in an otherwise not very interesting show is absolutely badass and fascinating and even attractive without necessarily being conventionally hot, that's enough for me. But I do have trouble with shows that may have interesting plots but absolutely no captivating characters.

Probably because your Average SPN Fan does little more than cream her jeans over one or both of them. Or at least that's what I've observed from the sidelines (I'm scared to explore the fandom any fuirther because holy God the crazy).

I'm not active in the fandom, but I think it gets a worse reputation than it deserves. The crazy people are just louder than the normal people.

I just found OP's conclusion that they can't get the show just because they don't find the main characters hot a bit weird.

I don't find it that weird if there's nothing interesting about it beyond the hot actors. And for me, that's definitely the case with SPN. I've tried to watch it, multiple times with episodes from different seasons. I can't get through more than 20 minutes of it because it bores the hell out of me. At least with hot actors, I'd have some incentive to make it through a full episode.
