I can just picture OP going to an Andy Warhol Exhibition complaining about how "Marilyn looked fine in grayscale... I mean, when he was just freshening up her cheeks with some color, sure, but THIS??"

I'll never understand why people want to normalize people who actually try to break out of the mold of things that have already been done. Warhol wouldn't be iconic if he didn't go over the top.
