oh no ;_____; i am this way too... i've gotten a new dog since my first one died and i'm ridiculously scared of her inevitable death ugh everything sucks

ugh this. i live every night fearful of losing my current cat, who i've had for several years and was best friends with my old cat who i lost about two years ago. she was what helped me survive after losing my baby and now i'm like "oh god, you'll die too some day... ;___;"

I remade my beloved cats in Sims2. They've outlived 4 generations of owners because I cannot bear to let them die.

I cheerfully off sims, sometimes just to make sure the lot is properly haunted. But the pets? They live *forever*.

I' ve had a lot of dogs since when I was a kid and by now losing a pet is not as devastating as it used to be - it still hurts, of course, and you don't just "get used" to it, but I learned to deal with it a lot better - and I don't think I'd feel like creating any of game through any PC game. Though in my case I guess it's more because it would feel empty since they're gone and not coming back and I prefer to just keep good memories to think back to whenever I want.

But yeah, IF I were to create any of them digitally and them had them dying, I would probably feel pretty shitty. Turning aging off could help, maybe?

Same, I could never recreate a pet and I hope my current pet's deaths are a long way off.

Unrelated, my dream last night involved a dog breaking into my house to paralyse both my rabbits. WTF subconscious, did not need to dream this.

Oddly, I understand you. Or perhaps not oddly. I play Nintendogs every single day, no matter what, because I feel terrible if I even so much as neglect them an hour too long. And they're not real, either. So I get ya.

That's the biggest woe of being a pet-owner: we are guaranteed to have to watch our children die.

That's exactly what I did except I made my old pet. It's still sad to look at a virtual version of her, but it wasn't as bad as I thought it might be.
