Isn't that...just natural? Why wouldn't you want to read/see as much as possible about your favourite character, as long as it's possible to write the ship while keeping the characters IC?

I do the same thing, OP. With every series I have a favorite character I will accept any ship of them (with some exceptions depending).

Sure, my favourite characters usually end up my Launcher, too. Even in dating sims where I fall in love with a character, I still end up shipping him with one or two other people.

High five, OP! When I find a character I absolutely adore, the first thing I think is, 'Who can I pair them with?' The second is, 'I wonder if there's porn for this yet...'

Yeah, I think that's pretty common, I do it too. Usually if I really like a character, I like the idea of them with just about anyone, because just the idea of that character being all romantic and cute is appealing to me.

That's what I do, too, and I think it's great if other people can, but I've noticed this unnerving tendency in my flist to profess that you can only have ONE True Pairing (TM) involving your favorite character and if you've written A/B once god forbid you ever switch to A/C let they brand you as a "traitor".
