i didn't like horrible bosses very much

it was such a... "man film" idk, and maybe it's because my gender studies mind wouldn't shut up but it didn't resonate well with me.

not saying that hangover 2 fared any better. they were both pretty mediocre movies imo. bridesmaids kicked both their asses.

oh yeah, that must have been what bothered me about it, i couldn't quite remember. yup, all the moments where the guy was like "she's going to RAPE ME!!!" were treated as a joke :|

Among the people I know, Horrible Bosses wasn't talked about nearly as much as the first Hangover, but I thought that Horrible Bosses would be this year's Hangover for sure. My sister and I went to see HB in the theater together and we were dying with laughter. I know Charlie Day is basically playing a more socially acceptable version of the same character he plays in Sunny, but damn, it was funny. The scene where he sings "That's Not My Name" by the Ting Tings? Oh man. I loves me some Jason Bateman too ("I feel shocked, Cotton".)

The Hangover 2...yikes. I don't know anyone who liked it. I'm not sure it had any real laughs at all.

Yeah, that song has it's own charm. It gave me the giggles for sure. But... the first Stu's song (Doug) was just magic wrapped in sunshine! For me, every line is perfect - the words, Ed Helms' delivery - divine! Man, I usually hate it when people are like that "Oh, I just like their earlier stuff, their new stuff sucks!"

But..."Then we're gonnna find our best friend Doug, and then we're gonna give him a best friend hug." Makes me so happy every time!

I haven't seen Horrible Bosses yet (it's on my list), but considering how fucking terrible The Hangover Part 2 was, I don't think that's a big accomplishment haha.

I agree. HB was slow and not as funny in the first 30 minutes, but when the guys met Jamie Fox, I couldn't stop laughing. The Hangover, OTOH, was way more about shock laughs and dudebro humor. It was one of those movies that I think if I hadn't seen in a theater, I wouldn't have enjoyed it as much. If I'd seen HB by myself, I think I would have still liked it.

ETA: OMG I thought you were comparing HB with the first Hangover movie. Yeah, H2 was a very bad movie; it was a total letdown. HB is so much better in comparison.
