I like the first dinosaur's derpy eyes.

In OT but not OT sort of news, a friend today posted on her FaceBook that she was watching Jurassic Park with her 2 and 5 year old kids. I saw that shit in the cinema when I was 10 and I was TERRIFIED. Thought it was an amazing film (and happily watched it again when it came out on VHS) but was still curled up in my cinema seat with my hands over my eyes, especially during the Samuel L Jackson arm bit. Am I weird in thinking 2 and 5 is too young for that film (obvs didn't say this to my friend)?

I have a friend who loves dinosaurs now, and when she was a toddler her parents would put Jurassic Park (and Alien!) on the TV to get her to stop crying. So... Maybe? Depends on the kid.

Apparently neither kid made it through the whole film and the scenes where they both claimed to be tired and wanted to go to bed were some of the scarier ones. So I'm guessing there'll be an FB status tomorrow about the kids waking her up in the night with bad dreams. :(

You are not weird. That's way too fucking young for Jurassic Park. Film ratings exist for a reason. That's beyond ridiculous.

Good to know I'm not being weird for being shocked. She's normally so good about stuff like this, so I was surprised to see the status. Maybe she's just forgotten how intense the film can be. I don't know.

Depends on the kid. Jurassic Park came out a few months before I turned 6 and I LOVED that movie. I already liked dinosaurs, but it fueled my interest in them even more.

So yeah, it really depends on the kid.
