He was good in Heathers, although he does seem to be doing his best Jack Nicholson impression in that. The voice, the eyes, it's actually pretty uncanny.

I think a lot of the hate comes from his personal life and the fact that he's a known woman-beater. While I believe in redemption and second chances for those who have recognised their crimes and sought to make things right, I'm not exactly going to be mad at the world for liking an actor less because it turns out they're violent and abusive.

Yeah, I liked him a lot, so it hurt to find out that he was/might still be an abuser. I hope he got help for that, for his sake, and not knowing if he did, I can't make any judgments there. But that kind of thing does put me off actors.

Haha, I just came here to say that it was funny to see this secret just as I finished watching Heathers. I thought he was great in it too.
