but seriously, mileena clearly loves what she looks like. iirc she thinks kitana (who has a normal, human face) is the ugly one. i don't know how op missed that.

Yeah, considering in one part of the world they find knocking out your lower teeth and stretching out your lower lip to the size of a tea dish sexy, there's no reason to think that Mileena would even perceive herself as being ugly.

...Are you sure? Because in all the Mileena endings I'm recalling, she gets her wish of losing the Tarkatan teeth and replacing Kitana.

oh, i was talking about MK9. i haven't played many of the other MK games so can't really speak for them. but i definitely got the impression mileena considered herself the better sister. she celebrated when kitana was sent away to be executed.

and in her tower ending, she kills shao kahn, absorbs all of shang tsung's souls, takes over outworld, and plans to destroy the gods and steal their power. so they must have dropped the "wants to look like kitana" wish.

Ahh, I see. Well, it is still rather implied in the new game as well, if only subtly. Mileena taunts Kitana with 'So pretty, so fair...so alone'--but mostly, they've decided to make her more like an axe-crazy child with no real care or concern for appearance.

Yeah, that much I remembered. I preferred Kitana's 'Charlie's Angels' ending, if only for the intriguing prospect of them being allies, with Sindel playing mommy to both and training up Mileena as the Princess/Ruler of Outworld and cementing an alliance between Edenia and Outworld.

...but clearly, there are no happy endings in MK. :C

idk maybe i'm wrong here, but i thought mileena was mocking kitana for being "pretty" and "fair" because neither were traits that shao kahn wanted in a daughter.

and goddamnit i wish there were more happy endings in MK! i want scorpion to finally live happily ever after, and for raiden to somehow bring everyone back in the next MK game. why do i keep playing a series that only leaves me feeling depressed afterwards? :( :(

No one really knows. They re-wrote Mileena in such a way, I'm no longer quite as sure about her character anymore.

I'm almost certain that instead of a happy solution, we'll get a nonsensical storyline that gets them back in the storyline anyway. MK without Kitana or Liu Kang? No thanks. :
