I'd really dig it if there was more MH fic out there that centered around the actual characters from the doll line rather than just everyone's OCs.

Well, if you're so worried, you could always post your fic on your own journal and then maybe mention it in a passing to others in the community? Like mention it in a comment, or if you really want people to check it out make a whole new entry. Make sure to let them know the fic is more mature compared to the usual stuff posted in the community. That way, people who are interested can take a look, but no-one will (hopefully) compare the fics to those posted in the community. It's a win/win situation, is it not?

I'm not in the community, but I'm 21 and I love MH. No shame in being older is all I'm saying.

I'm not in the fandom, but I know some fans. I think you could do well with it. There is a market for something with more maturity and depth.

Write it and post it. I think you'll find there's an audience starved for non-kiddie, childish fic in MH. I know I'm one of them. I love the dolls although I've only seen a couple of eps. I listen to the theme song on my mp3 player constantly. I can't stand the kiddie fic. I keep thinking I'll write femslash for MH and post it. I don't know if anyone will read it but I don't really care.

I need to practice writing anyway. It can't be any worse than what I've read in the fandom. I've been wanting to get into writing again (it's been years) and I think this fandom is perfect for it as it aligns with my lifelong interest in myths and monsters. I just need to get more familiar with the source material and watch the eps. Although I'm thinking more fairytale based stories are what I'll be starting with.
