I really liked the different art styles in the flash. Already Homestuck has more than one style, between the characters' sprite forms and their full-body forms. It's a different way to look at familiar characters.

Yes, but the hero mode and sprite versions are all still done in that manner like they were actually drawn in MS Paint. I don't mind mixing in the different styles, I think Xamag's stuff was awesome even though it was completely different than the sprites or hussnasty or what have you, but it still meshed. And while definitely some of the pieces were still amazing (Leppu's close up Jack's face before he killed AR and the drawings of Dream Dave and Rose while they were on Derse's moon come to mind,) they stood out and made the whole thing feel very disconnected. Idk, I love the art but as part of the flash it just seemed really out of place.

butttt, I've always felt like this. It wasn't just an issue I had to be contrary with Cascade. I didn't really like 5x Showdown flash for the same reason. :3c

I guess that's just a big ymmv thing, no? :) I loved the art mix, personally, but obv everyone will react in different ways.
