Eeeeee, no, I haven't! Always looking for more Spall recs! I just watched him in Pierrepoint--- he is SO, so talented. *___*

I don't adore the movie overall, but he's SO good in it, as is my darling Lesley Manville. (ROBBED OF THE OSCAR LAST YEAR TBH) Also The Damned United; that has tons of awesome people. <3

Wait. WAIT. Timothy Spall is in The Damned United?? Oh my goodness, my blossoming love for Spall has just collided with my long-standing love for Michael Sheen. My world may never be the same. XD

Yes he is! :D And so is my darling Stephen Graham and lots of other awesome people. That movie was really overlooked. It's kind of a better version of Moneyball, IMO. Definitely Netflix it! :D

Sheen's awesomeness in the Underworld films is only matched by the awesomeness of his costar Bill Nighy. Watching the two of them devour the scenery at full-tilt is a joy to behold, particularly in Rise of the Lycans. Ham-to-ham combat at its finest!

I totally didn't remember Spall in this, but then I think I was most captivated by Jim Broadbent's WS Gilbert.

Broadbent completely amazed me in that role. Indeed, one of my favorite moments in the movie is the exchange between him and Mr. Spall, when Gilbert asks Temple if he would be prepared to sing the cut song at the first performance. It's a wonderfully played, very powerful moment between two great actors. A really extraordinary film!

Is this that movie about Gilbert and Sullivan?

Indeed it is! I highly recommend it!

I haven't seen this movie, but Timothy Spall is a pretty badass actor. :B Hooray to seeing more fans of his around here!

Oh, man, I can't recommend this movie enough. He's just fantastic in it! Trust the word of a newly-converted Spall enthusiast. :D

I totally understand. What I don't understand is why the movie that made me attracted to him was Rockstar >.o

Nooooo he is definitely completely edible in Rockstar. That's actually the first movie that made me notice him outside of Harry Potter! Up until that point, when I saw him in a small role, I'd think, "oh, there's Wormtail again." Rockstar made me say, "Wait a second, who IS this Timothy Spall guy??"

I don't quite understand this secret. He's not Pettigrew, he's an actor.
It's like saying you can't like any of Ralph Fiennes' characters, since he has been a nazi once.
Though I understand your admiration for Spall. He's awesome.

What I only meant to say was that a lot of people in fandom (or at least, the people in my corners of fandom) most strongly associate Spall with a decidedly unsavory role. I've mentioned this burgeoning Spall-crush to several of them, and I've been answered every time with an incredulous, "Wait... WORMTAIL? Really??" I wasn't saying that I "can't" like him. I just prefer to keep it to myself, mostly to save people the strain of trying to grasp such a concept, haha. ^_^
