On a related note this is exactly why I try not to find out too much about celebrities because their personal lives can ruin their work for me.

Same here. For me it's more true for musicians because I tend to enjoy songs a lot longer than movies and tv shows. And with film sometimes I can look past it if I'm used to seeing a celebrity act in a wide range of roles. There's less shock value.

Yeahhhh. I've unwatched some people on dA once I got a closer look at the kind of people they really are. Though I have to say, I think it was for the better in some cases.

Sorry, op. Reading someone's journal/twitter/thingy-where-they-reveal-their-true-opinions is always a gamble. They might turn out to be EVEN MORE AWESOME THAN YOU EVER THOUGHT :D, maybe they are just boring :|, or they might be horrible, horrible people and everything they touched is now ruined forever. :(

This is why I try not to find out too much about people who I admire/think are cool. I try not to let their personal beliefs/opinions bother me, but it's never really the same. :\

I just said I found them annoying and hate their opinions but that doesn't mean I cat't respect them (In this particular case I don't). I don't agree with them, but they can think whatever they like. I just have a hard time liking someone who judges people based on their sexuality.

You don't HAVE to be. It's just that for some people, disagreeing strongly with an artist's opinions can color their appreciation of the work.
