Of course. Because no one could ever dislike a character based solely on just not liking their personality.

Seriously, if you're the OP, you honestly have no idea what you're talking about. I do not like Shinji. He, as a character, annoys me. His personality grates. I find EVERYONE in EVA to be unlikable. To me, it's an unlikable series, because I can't sympathize with anyone. There are plenty of other characters from other series I don't like, too. And plenty of characters I do like. This is normal. I shall repeat, since for whatever reason you can't seem to grasp this concept, THIS. IS. NORMAL.

Like a poster above mentioned, this is aimed at people who like Eva but hate Shinji, rather then people who hate Shinji as part of hating Eva as a whole.

And while there are probably exceptions, I do agree with the OP. Most people I come across who furiously hate Shinji hate him because he's the weak coward we'd all be in that situation rather than the manly man's man man they want him to be.
