(Anonymous) 2011-11-03 11:57 pm (UTC)(link)We don't know how their version of the story will be taken into account in the 30th Macross Anniversary (who survives? Brera or Michael?), but Ranka is no longer a romantic side of the triangle. She is still an important and cherished friend.

Here's my other problem with the Macross Frontier films: they seem totally superfluous to me. The 25 episodes of the show were such a perfect encapsulation of what the Macross franchise is about, what makes it great, that doing a theatrical remake struck me as pointless. I tried to watch it and I was just bored. (And not because my OT3 apparently gets torpedoed, either; that's actually only one reason I like Frontier, and not the biggest one.)
So what's this 30th Macross Anniversary thing? And why is it not about the Megaroad? Because honestly, haven't we as fans earned the right to fucking know what happened to Hikaru, Misa, and Minmei? Haven't we earned that much?!
