I think Digimon actually has one of the bitchier elitist gatherings compared to other "Saturday morning anime," from the little I've witnessed.

It certainly was when I was actually in fandom. Better not say Davis or Yolei -- that's a crime!

Way back when I was in fandom, it was that way, too. I remember reading many a fic when they used Japanese terms (that I would never have known if not for those fics. Kaiser? Chosen Children? Digimental?)

But actually! I was watching the dubs of Adventure and 02 (Toon Disney has them, who knew) and aside from some REALLY horrible puns, the dubs were actually pretty good. I mean, you can't argue that they made it too kiddy, it was already geared toward kids.
