4. It's just a bashing of a popular pairing. There's severe pairing wars in Bleach, from what I can tell. Worse than FMA, and I thought those fans were bad. If I knew what fandoms you're in, I'd reference one as an example, but I don't so... I hope that helped? ^-^;;

I know of the ship wars (and FMA's too. ^^;), I was more confused by the 'apped' and 'crossed out'

My confusion has ended! I thought it said 'crossed out', when it says 'grossed out'. Oops. ^^;


None of my fandoms are really new enough to have severe pairing wars anymore. ^^;

"They applied as Ichigo purposely to not pair him up with Rukia is my gathering. Sort of like someone picking up Ed in an RP just to go "Ewww" when asked if he's going out with the Winry character." would have been my explanation if I realized you knew FMA.

I think most people are familiar with FMA, I mean, I know the names of the main Bleach cast and I have no intention of watching/reading it.

I was totally thrown by the unclear font. ^^;

Lawl. I didn't exactly know what apped meant either, but I figured out the gist of it from the sentence.

And I must say I do that sometimes as well for the (occasional) games I play... purposely apply a character a certain way.

And I'm more of a fan of the RenjixRukia pairing... however I don't get into shipping wars about it. I don't even really care for the series Bleach. I just like Renji.

Now Tsusoka on the other hand...? I may not fight about it, but I'll be firm. They ARE love.

I don't think I tend to war with pairings...just silently stick my tongue out, I suppose. XD And I don't watch Bleach at all. The extent of my interest is as far as thinking Hanatarou is cute. =/

The key difference here being that, from what I've heard, there is some level of at least implied romance between Ed and Winry. Ichigo and Rukia are only shown to be good friends, any romance at all is speculation, AND YET a huge chunk of fandom considers them canon already. :\

Yes, EdxWin is canon now, and in the manga. That's just starting now, maybe in the 11th graphic novel, at the earliest.

This being said, with no idea how far the manga or even anime is, in Bleach.

In the anime, which most of FMAs fans are based on, there's no more indication that EdxWin is canon than that Elricest is canon. Obviously they care about each other, but it's never clear to what level. In fact, Hughes specifically calls Winry an 'older sister' in one episode.

I'm not trying to be argumentative. I just wanted to point out that for a lot of FMA fans there is no more implied romance than in Bleach. As a lot of fans are either anime-only or may not have gotten to that point in the manga, yet.
