I'm surprised no one has commented on the two dudes humping to the left of the puppy pile.

[identity profile] wldcatsprstr-14.livejournal.com 2011-11-11 01:24 am (UTC)(link)
Well now that you've mentioned it...

[identity profile] hermione-vader.livejournal.com 2011-11-11 03:29 am (UTC)(link)
And two guys on the edge of the huddle (Chris Carpenter and a black fellow) are totally watching.

[identity profile] wldcatsprstr-14.livejournal.com 2011-11-11 03:37 am (UTC)(link)
I don't even know who those guys are and now I want fic.

[identity profile] hermione-vader.livejournal.com 2011-11-11 04:48 am (UTC)(link)
I don't know who the humping guys are, but yeah...

Do you think baseball_kink would catch on?

[identity profile] wldcatsprstr-14.livejournal.com 2011-11-11 04:55 am (UTC)(link)
You kidding? It would DEFINITELY catch on. All that phallic imagery, ball-fondling, and tight pants? Innuendo central.

[identity profile] kyoto-idol.livejournal.com 2011-11-11 01:23 am (UTC)(link)
The OP of that secret a few days ago lamenting the lack of a fannish response to the World Series would!

Unless you are the same OP, in which case, hey, do it anyway and have fun. You never know with the internet.

(Anonymous) 2011-11-11 01:28 am (UTC)(link)
I'm not that OP. Now if only I knew what I was doing...

(Anonymous) 2011-11-11 01:56 am (UTC)(link)
Another baseball secret? ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ zzzzzzzzzzzzzz ZZZZZZZZZZZZ

[identity profile] raichu100.livejournal.com 2011-11-11 02:11 am (UTC)(link)
I think baseball is boring myself, but I don't begrudge other people their right to like it. Why bother commenting and complaining about it? Seems pretty whiny.

Hey, go for it. I've enjoyed fanmixes w/o a fancy cover and that were comprised of popular songs rather than indie mixes a lot more than the indie mixes. TBH, I usually ending up hating most indie fanmixes as they usually aren't to my taste. I usually use them to download music as a try it out before I buy it when it comes to indie music. I usually end up deleting a most of them 'cause even though the lyrics were interesting, the music sucked ass.

[identity profile] kryptoncat.livejournal.com 2011-11-11 02:10 am (UTC)(link)
I've never made a downloadable fanmix, just a few personal ones, but I can tell you what I would do:

1. Put the songs you want in a folder. (You could probably use something like Audacity to change the files to mp3s if you need to.) Open them in iTunes and edit the songs' properties so they all have the same album name. Be sure to check the 'part of a compilation' box.

2. Download GIMP. (It's like Photoshop, but free!) Mess around with it. There's tutorials on their website, but it should be easy to crop a picture to CD size and write your fab album name on the cover. Download some cool fonts, too!

3. Whatever songs you think works should be the songs you use. If you like it; that's what matters. You could see if anyone's made a tribute vid for the team on Youtube and see if you like the songs they use.

4. You will be surprised. I once found a fanmix for a very obscure pairing in one of my fandoms that I loved but didn't get too much attention, and then a week later I found another one! Post it in fanmix and/or a baseball comm and people might flock to it. Good luck!

Forgot to add: After you complete your album art, save the file as a jpg or whatever and put it in the folder as well. Copy the jpg file, right click the song on iTunes, click 'get info' and paste the cover under the 'artwork' tab. (I've changed the CD cover to almost all of my songs; it's fandom city on my iPod!)

(Anonymous) 2011-11-11 03:52 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks for the advice! I already have GIMP (I use it to make secrets), but I hadn't used the tutorials before. I guess this won't be quite as daunting as I thought.

[identity profile] nofaves.livejournal.com 2011-11-11 02:43 am (UTC)(link)
Just go for it! The only weird software I needed when I made mine was an mp3 tag editor. And I'm old middle-aged, so my mixes are generally chock-full of 80s stuff!

[identity profile] etherealtsuki.livejournal.com 2011-11-11 04:44 am (UTC)(link)
IT MUST HAVE THIS. YOU KNOW THIS TO BE TRUE.

[identity profile] jedishampoo.livejournal.com 2011-11-11 02:19 pm (UTC)(link)
GRRR those darned Cardinals.

Signed, butthurt Cincinnati Reds fan

Seriously, why not? Baseball would make a great fandom -- mix-y, slash-y, what have you. Now if we could just get everyone to agree on teams... ;)
